Something For Nothing - Bike Assist
Hello and welcome to another consumer tip, courtesy of your friends here at TMG The Mortgage Group.
As you can see I am not wearing my normal work clothes and that's because todays topic has to do with one of my newest athletic endeavours.
I have recently bought a new bike, and started to take advantage of some of the great trails and routes throughout the lower mainland.
Like most people I am not a fan of changing a flat tire and hate the thought of having to walk my bike home if it were to break.
Imagine my surprise when my BCAA membership renewal arrived in the mail this week and offered something for free. My ears always perk up at the sound of free. So what is this free service you might be asking. BCAA now offer with your regular membership something called Bike Assist. Here's the way it works. You are out on the road miles from home and you get a flat tire or your bike chain breaks, simply call BCAA the way you would if you had car trouble and they will send out a technician to assist with your bike.
They'll do their best to repair your bike on the spot but if this can't be done, they'll transport you and your bike up to a distance based on your current level of BCAA. And just like road assist they're available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I think this is a great service and while I hope I don't have to take advantage of it, I am feeling a lot more comfortable about taking longer rides away from home.
